Don't BEE Afraid...Be the BUZZ of the Town by Wearing a Live Bee Beard!

Arizona Science Center offers a once in a lifetime chance to wear a beard of live honeybees!

March 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Spring is right around the corner…and bees are soon to start showing their stripes throughout Arizona. While many fear bees, honeybees play an integral part in our ecosystem. With the right touch, a calm hand, and a few thousand worker bees there is nothing to fear…and we’ll prove it at Arizona Science Center!

Arizona residents, ages 14 and up, are invited to enter for their chance to wear a beard of live bees on-site at Arizona Science Center on Saturday, March 20. The period of entry runs from Feb. 28, 2010 – Mar. 12, 2010. Six qualified winners will be randomly drawn from the pool of entrants. Entrance forms can be downloaded at www.azscience.org and must be submitted either via fax to 602-716-2099, dropped off at the Science Center’s Info Zone or emailed to cartera@azscience.org.

John Gibeau, B.S. MBA, Bee Master and Honeybee Technologist of The Honeybee Centre in Surrey, British Columbia, will be on-site facilitating the live bee beards. John has wrangled bees on dozens of movie sets including the ‘Case 39’ (2008) with Renee Zellweger and ‘The Wicker Man’ (2006) with Nicholas Cage. As president and founder of the Honeybee Centre, John provides over 30 years of experience with bees and will not only facilitate the live bee beards but will explain just how it works and why there’s nothing to fear.

Just want to watch? Come on down to Arizona Science Center on Mar. 20, 2010 to watch the winners wear their beards of live bees. Demonstrations will begin at 11 a.m. and run every 30 minutes until 1:30 p.m.
