Never Be Attacked By A Shark Again, Race At Aircraft–like Speeds Across Choppy Seas Or Dive To 40m

Region’s Biggest Leisure Marine Event Closes Tomorrow With Celebrity Entertainment and the Latest Cool Gadgets

March 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Dubai International Boat Show is the only place to catch the latest cool marine gadgets which can guarantee you’ll never be attacked by a shark again, allow you to dive to depths of 40 metres with the latest hydro-dynamic SEABOB, have you hurtling across the ocean at aircraft-like speeds, or ensure you never run out of petrol on the high seas with the world launch of the battery-powered engine!

The action-packed leisure marine show taking place at the Dubai International Marine Club comes to a close tomorrow evening, following five power-packed days of great business sales and enthralling entertainment.

Just a few of the thousands of cool products at the show include:

WIG (Wing-in-Ground Effect) Craft: Aquaglide-5

WIG Craft is an innovative high-speed transportation craft combining the advantages of motor boats and aircraft. Arriving at the show from Russia, and available at AED 2.2 million, the Aquaglide-5 can speed through rough waters as a boat over water, snow or ice and reach speeds up to 170 kilometres per hour.

“We have had great interest already in the Aquaglide-5, it seems visitors from the Middle East really like the idea,” said Valery K. Belyak, Sales and Marketing Manager, ATTK (Arctic Trade and Transport Company). “We are using really unique technology in this very practical craft that can be used in so many ways you are only limited by your imagination and environment. This is not a concept, not a prototype; it is a reality and available at the Dubai International Boat Show.”

Shark Repellent – SOFAB Boats
The Shark Repellent will save your life from shark attacks; guaranteed, or your money back! That is the bold claim of SOFAB Boats who have seen huge interest in their rather technically-named MA-SR1, which emits electromagnetic pulses to deter any sharks from coming within a 4 metre radius. At just AED 3,000, it could be money very wisely spent!

“We have seen a great response to the Shark Repellent at the Dubai International Boat Show. People are first caught by our bold guarantee, but when we explain the real benefits for divers, swimmers, snorkelers or kayakers they recognise the massive advantages. We have sold more than 1,000 in the Middle East already with lots more interest here at the Dubai International Boat Show,” said Derek Williams, Director of Operations, SOFAB Boats.

SEABOB

The SEABOB is the latest in water sport that glides you through the water at speeds of up to 20 kilometres per hour. Divers can also use the SEABOB to plunge to depths of up to 40 metres. The hydrodynamic shape gives the SEABOB unexpected agility in the water and at AED 75,000 each is the latest craze to hit Dubai.

The latest model on display is the SEABOB Cayago F7 and the limited edition Magnum, which is available for selected customers only.

“The UAE-based company Wave Marine General Trading, the authorised agents for SEABOB in the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain has found the Dubai International Boat Show the best platform to launch the SEABOB to an exclusive Middle East audience,” said Mazen Ibrahim Al Angary, President, Wave Marine General Trading.

Sea Dunes

UAE-based Sea Dunes has unveiled to the world a new battery-powered boat at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show, which is expected to radically reduce waste in operating and maintaining yachts and boats.

Sea Dunes teamed up with the French scientist George Feliot, who was one of the pioneers and top scientist of the European Space Agency program, to develop a battery-powered boat engine that delivers the same horsepower as many petrol-powered boats, yet weighs less and has practically zero-wastage and maintenance.

“Sea Dunes has always developed practical solutions for boating, sailing and nautical leisure. And for the first time, we are introducing a boat using a battery-powered engine that is environmentally friendly yet affords its owners the same leisure boating experience,” said Raymond Sabbah, CEO, Sea Dunes.

The Dubai International Boat Show runs until tomorrow (Saturday) at the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi from 3pm – 9pm. The show is open to trade visitors and the general public.

Admission is AED 55 per person for all attendees without an invitation and tickets are available now from www.timeouttickets.com. Children under 12 will be admitted free and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Access to the Marina Display Area may be restricted at certain times.
