Pink Bra Bazaar, a non profit fundraising organization,  is encouraging ladies to clean out their lingerie drawers and bring their cast offs to Spring Cleaning Bra Day, all in support of prevention, early detection and breast cancer research.

Using a unique approach to importance of lingerie, the Spring Cleaning Day celebrates and recycles bras – pink or otherwise – and gives a new purpose to discarded delicates.  

In the spirit of a pink flash mob, women of all ages are invited to bring their pretty lingerie bras that don’t fit, are little used or neglected as donations to the cause.  The collected  items,  ‘Vintage Lingerie’,  will be sold to raise funds to support non-profit organizations that assist breast cancer survivors,  families and researchers.

The impromptu gathering will be Sunday, March 21st, 3PM at Place Trocadero in Paris.  Open to all women, their husbands, friends and family, the Spring Cleaning Bra Day promises to be fun and unconventional , in solidarity for a serious issue.

Founded by lingerie industry insiders, Kathryn Kemp Griffin and Marie-Dominique Tabard, Pink Bra Bazaar was created to obtain support for breast cancer prevention and detection efforts from the more personal sector of ladies apparel.  They have gained the support of major luxury lingerie brands notably,  Wacoal.

Ms. Kemp Griffin noted that the Pink Bra Bazaar initiative, launched at the Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris, has received an unexpectedly strong response from industry members, suppliers and creators.   Lingerie is personal and intimate, therefore the appeal of Pink Bra Bazaar, for industry members, is the ability to support breast cancer reduction efforts in a distinct manner consistent with the perception of lingerie…beautiful, feminine and seductive.

The organizers have a number of events planned, following the Spring Cleaning Bra Day, which will permit individuals to participate and support this worthy charity.
