Follow on Google News | Seeds of Spring Arrive with the Launch of Women's Plus Size FashionBlouse House launches their spring clothing line with a special program that encourages a healthier planet.
By: John Paul To encourage a greener planet, Blouse House is kicking off its new spring clothing line with a special offer of free packets of flower seeds with each order. The seeds are a token gift to symbolize the start of spring and a fun way to encourage clients to add a little color in their work and home environments. Blouse House is an online women's plus size retailer, that supports green activities with a corporate policy encouraging environmental conservation. According to Richie May, Jr., President of Blouse House, "This spring season we wanted to do something that was both fun and purposeful as we roll out our new A Personal Touch clothing line. We thought a flower seed program would be a nice touch and consistent with our policies of environmental sustainability" Being green and doing green activities is not new to Blouse House. The decision to form as an online store, versus a brick and mortar retailer, was made in part to fulfill a mission of helping the environment. The owners of Blouse House wanted to sell their products in a clean manner, reduce waste and give back to their community. Some green initiatives that have given Blouse House success are; - encouraging all employees to turn off lights and equipment when not in use - clustering production and work times into efficient time segments to minimize energy use - separation of trash from recycled items - consolidation of all standalone office printers into shared networked multifunctional devices with duplex printing and network scanning into PDF work flows - pre-setting all company computers to sleep mode when inactive - upgrading all office equipment with the latest energy star products - using nontoxic cleaning fluids and recycled paper supplies - adding plants and flowers in all work areas - asking employees for their inputs Richie May adds, "We have made a conscious effort as a management team to think green and make green improvements in our operation where ever we can. Operating our business in a green way has significantly reduced our operating expenses by minimizing waste and saving energy costs. Having a green focus is good for all of us. Every little bit helps. Maybe if a few more seeds are planted in this world and some flowers come of them, those simple acts can have a positive impact on others as well." # # # Blouse House Inc. (www.blousehouse.com) End
