Free 2010 Ford Escape Contest To Benefit At-Risk Kids

March 24, 2010 - PRLog -- BETTENDORF, IA March 15, 2010 - QC United, a Bettendorf-based non-profit, kicked off the annual “Dreams Come True” Trip Fundraiser today by launching a national website - www.Win-A-Ford-Escape.com.  This website will allow visitors an opportunity to make a small donation that will benefit area QC kids, and become eligible to win a brand new 2010 Ford Escape, along with some other really cool prizes. Those interested just need to visit the website and follow the instructions to participate.

QC United is planning the “Dreams Come True” trip for 40 low-income youth from the Iowa / Illinois Quad Cities to Washington DC beginning July 11, 2010.  This trip is in honor of Reece Morgan, a man who dedicated his life to improving educational opportunities for area kids.

The participating youth are members of several different area school and community mentoring groups which includes students from Fillmore Elementary, Lincoln Academy. Wood Intermediate, all located in Davenport, along with students from Mount Zion Church in East Moline and from the Rock Island Housing Authority in Rock Island. All participating youth groups will be accompanied by their mentor and will be expected to maintain journals of their trip experiences.

“The youth selected for this trip have limited financial resources but are full of potential”, says Kim Riley-Quinn, QC United Program Director.  “We want to expand their experiences so they can begin to see the enormous opportunities that exist for them through education and as valued members of our global community.”

In order to help raise the necessary funds that will make this trip a reality, QC United has partnered with local Ford dealership Reynolds Motor Company and Internet marketing firm DeepRiverMedia. For each $10.00 donation, an individual will have his/her name put in a drawing for the 2010 Ford Escape Grand Prize. If the goal of 5000 donations is not met, the pot of funds becomes a 50/50 drawing (which is still a great deal for the winner!). Second prize is a Sony Blue Ray DVD Player along with four movies and third prize is a Kindle. Specific rules and guidelines are available at the website - www.Win-A-Ford-Escape.com.

The drawing will be held Friday May 14, 2010.  Winners will be notified by phone within 2 business days of the drawing.  Winner of the 2010 Ford Escape is responsible for taxes, fees, licensing and shipping costs. All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of notification or they become the property of QC United.
