By: Jerry Czernel The global Progressive Manufacturing Awards Program recognizes best-in-class manufacturers from the U.S. and around the globe. Radar Industries, Inc. has been recognized among 100 outstanding manufacturers that have been selected based on the scope of mastery, business integration, and use of technology demonstrated by each winner. “The great success of their project, Casting to Stamping Reengineering, got the attention of the panel of judges. We are extremely proud and honored that our client will be receiving this significant award,” says Jerry Czernel, Vice President of Operations at AIM. The project was to reengineer an existing automotive casting that was made overseas into a multi-piece stamping assembly to save cost, increase performance characteristics and safety. The Casting to Stamping project allows Radar to fabricate the stamped parts in Michigan, reduce supply chain lead times and increase Radar’s customer responsiveness and agility. “A wide range of software solutions brought this reengineering effort to reality,” continues Czernel. “Our AIM Vision software was complemented by Microsoft-based foundation and financial products supplied by the TM Group, a major Microsoft Dynamics partner here in Michigan.” “Receiving this award recognizes Radar’s commitment to innovation and the use of advanced technology and has provided validation to our communities that we are on the right track with our mission and business strategies.” Radar Industries, Inc. will be honored at the Progressive Manufacturing Summit Black Tie Gala on May 5, 2010 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. During this event, Managing Automation will also announce which of the 100 companies being honored also receive the Editor’s Choice Award, Best of Mastery awards, and High Achiever awards.
