By: The Philly Beer School The Philly Beer School plans to celebrate with an array of unique classes and events for beer connoisseurs looking to take their passion to the next level. Brewmaster and Senior Instructor Dean Browne is aiming high: “We’ The line up of specialty courses includes "Beer Wars: Old World vs. New World Brews," "The Ultimate Beer Class," and "A Beer Journey to the Other Side," along with an Italian Beer and Four Course Feast with L'Oca Restaurant. Reaching out to professionals and homebrewers, starting The Philly Beer School with Dean Browne was a no-brainer according to Keith Wallace, who also heads the Wine School of Philadelphia. "It’s wonky, it’s fun, and I noticed that brewers were going through my wine programs because there really wasn’t anything out there for them." Now that The Philly Beer School has gained national attention and become firmly established in the Philadelphia food scene, Mr. Wallace plans to offer a certification program for homebrewers that will be the only one of its kind in the nation. The program is expected to debut during Philadelphia Beer Week, in June of this year. The Philly Beer School remains the only business to exclusively offer regularly scheduled beer classes geared toward consumers and homebrewers.
