The opening 20 20 championship of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup was held in the year 2007, in South Africa, India won the 20 20 World Cup Title.

Twenty20 Cricket World Cup 2007 prolonged on from 11th September to 24th September, with India winning the championship, after defeating Pakistan by 5 runs (in Johannesburg).
