IMI Foot Mobile Assault Bridge (FMAB) Systems to Support US Marine Forces in Afghanistan

March 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Ramat Hasharon, Israel: Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI) was awarded 4 Dec 2009 a contract to provide the USMC forces in Afghanistan with Foot Mobile Assault Bridges (FMAB). The FMAB is a lightweight, aluminum alloy, tactical vehicle transportable, manually erected, assault bridge. It is rapidly assembled, employed and retrieved by both engineer and non-engineer personnel - without assistance from the far shore. The bridge enables fully equipped Marines and other personnel to cross wet or dry obstacles such as canals, streams, gullies or ravines.
FMAB first deliveries took place on 24 Dec 2009. Serial deliveries – ongoing.
