Something for everyone at Newton Abbot Racecourse over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend

March 30, 2010 - PRLog -- The Easter race meeting is traditionally one of the busiest days of the racing calendar. The four day holiday marks the perfect opportunity for people to get together with friends and family, which certainly looks to be the case at Newton Abbot this weekend.

Children visiting the racecourse are in for an extra special treat on Saturday with the first 100 children through the gates receiving a free Easter egg, plus all children can enter a colouring competition where the winner will win an amazing 4.5kg chocolate Easter egg.

The racecourse’s wide-ranging appeal is clear to see from this weekend’s advanced-bookings with five birthday parties planned, from an 18th to a 90th birthday celebration.  Newton Abbot’s allure is proving to extend outside of the country with one party making their annual trip to the racecourse from Ireland to enjoy the Easter racing action.

Alongside the birthday celebrations, romance looks set to continue on Saturday with the wedding reception of Michael and Michaela Walsh of Tiverton. The wedding reception follows a marriage proposal at the course on the first race of the season last month when Darren Symonds proposed to his girlfriend Bethan Hughes, via a message on the TV screens around the racecourse.  In addition to the wedding reception, the course is host to a 30th wedding anniversary, two hen parties and a stag party.
