By: Allen Cross Saturday June 5, 2010 *1 PM – 2 PM: Elementary aged children – audition for opening scene and grand finale, will only be asked to sing Happy Birthday and follow the director’s directions on stage. 2 PM – : All Others, middle school, high school and adults Tuesday June 8, 2010 *7 PM – 8 PM: Elementary aged children – audition for opening scene and grand finale, will only be asked to sing Happy Birthday and follow the director’s directions on stage. 8 PM – : All Others, middle school, high school and adults Thursday June 10, 2010 (Call Backs) *7 PM – 8 PM: Elementary aged children – audition for opening scene and grand finale, will only be asked to sing Happy Birthday and follow the director’s directions on stage. 8 PM – : All Others, middle school, high school and adults *Children will be cast during these time slots for the opening scene and grand finale. During the rest of the performance, the children will be chaperoned by adults in the school music room. Auditions are conducted in 3 parts, music, a reading from the script and dance. Actors should come prepared for the following: > Prepare to sing a song from a musical (no pop, R&B, rap, etc.) not to exceed 32 bars. An accompanist will be provided, as well as a CD/Cassette player. Please bring music in your key. No singing over pre-recorded vocal tracks. > Come prepared to learn a short dance routine to music from the show. Dress comfortably and bring appropriate footwear (character shoes, dance shoes, tennis shoes, etc). Flip-flops or bare feet are not acceptable (this is for your safety). Bring water as we can not guarantee that the vending machines will be turned on. There are water fountains. > Selections from the script will be pre-determined and you will be given time to review the selection before your reading. There’s no need to prepare a monologue as we will be reading directly from the script. Show Information: Show dates are September 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th at 8 PM and September 5th at 2:30 PM.
