Prestige Network wins major new language contract with St Helens and Knowsley Hospital NHS Trust

April 12, 2010 - PRLog -- A major new 24/7 contract has been awarded to provide language services to St Helens and Knowsley Hospital NHS Trust. The one-year contract is to provide interpreters (telephone and face-to-face) and translators.

It was won by Berkshire-based language services company Prestige Network following a pitch with other potential providers and is an exclusive contract, meaning that all interpreting and translating for St Helens and Knowsley Hospital NHS Trust now goes through Prestige Network.

Shawn Khorassani, Business Development Director of language services provider Prestige Network, said: “This contract means that we will be providing valuable support for the whole of St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust and its local communities, although it is anticipated that the need will be greatest at New Whiston Hospital in Prescot.

“Prestige Network has done some work for the hospitals on various occasions in the past, mainly for rare languages, so we are very pleased to be taking over as the Trust’s sole provider for language services.

“The New Whiston Hospital is a totally new hospital, which brings in a new era for both the Trust and the local community in a modern world-class hospital. We are honoured to have been chosen over other providers in the tender process to be part of those state-of-the-art facilities.”

Prestige Network will provide interpreters and translators to the St Helens and Knowsley Hospital NHS Trust on a 24/7 basis. This means that the company provides an out of hours phone number for the hospitals’ urgent interpreting needs.

Shawn said: “We already have a bank of translators and interpreters in the right part of the country, but we are always on the lookout for more linguists - in all languages - with experience in this type of work. We will be providing a whole range of language services – from face-to-face interpreting and telephone interpreting to translations. Any linguist needs to be local to St Helens and Knowsley.”
