April 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Health and Safety Institute (HSI) is proud to announce the launch of First Safety Institute (FSI) joining American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), MEDIC First Aid, 24-7 EMS, 24-7 Fire, and EMP Canada as the newest member of the largest privately held emergency care and response training organization in the world.

First Safety Institute will offer specialized safety courses to enhance the emergency care training of businesses, non-profits, government agencies and other organizations.  Designed to conform to OSHA standards, FSI provides programs that can be used as stand-alone courses or as part of a comprehensive training program to meet safety requirements.

“Our newest brand family member, First Safety Institute, allows us to close the OSHA gap for our Instructors and Training Centers,” explains Bill Clendenen, CEO of HSI. “These programs will offer the same comprehensive and flexible course formats that have made HSI a training industry leader, and apply that approach to helping customers meet their OSHA mandates.”
First Safety Institute will launch twelve programs in 2010, including Introduction to OSHA, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, and Portable Fire Extinguishers.

HSI Training Centers and Authorized Instructors from ASHI and MEDIC First Aid will be able to teach the course materials and issue successful completion certificates to students.  Safety training materials are also available for corporate use in education and safety departments and will be offered in both classroom and blended learning formats.

“FSI brings a significant business expansion opportunity to our network of Instructors,” says Vice President of Business Development, Marit Saltrones. “By incorporating OSHA training, it allows our HSI entrepreneurs to satisfy a common request by existing customers and provides a needed product to a broader range of organizations and businesses seeking thorough and easy-to-use safety training.”
