April 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The new HTC Desire has now been picked up by a sixth network operator, the dedicated 3G network, 3 Mobile follows the initial launch of this latest HTC phone on Vodafone and T-Mobile back in late February as well as Orange, O2, and Virgin more recently.

This new network launch means there are now even more pay monthly tariffs for consumers to choose from when trying to match their usage requirements, although the most advanced handset from the manufacturer to date the HTC Desire is already available from free on some tariffs.

Featuring a large 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen display also found in the Google Nexus One (HTC manufactured), a good quality 5.0 mega pixel camera, an industry leading 1GHz processor for loading and fast running of applications and the HTC Sense user interface running over the top of the Android v2.1 operating software the HTC Desire is one power packed device.

The manufacturer has also launched two other handsets alongside this model called the HTC Legend and HTC HD Mini. The Legend is also an Android powered handset but features a slightly different design with a prominent 'chin' at the bottom of the phone designed to protect the screen from scratches when laid face down.

The HTC HD Mini is a Windows powered smart phone that is a smaller version of the HTC HD2, the new HD Mini shrinks the main touch screen down from a massive 4.3 inches to a more manageable 3.2 inches as found in the Legend handset, aside from this and a slightly smaller 600MHz processor the HTC HD Mini is almost an exact miniaturised version of the previous model.

The HTC Desire is the most advanced of the three new releases and also offers the new FriendStream application which organises all of the users friends status updates on social networking sites, text messages and emails into one continuous thread of information.

Competition comes in the form of the previously mentioned Nexus One handset but the Desire trumps this with added support for Flash 10.1 and an optical track pad as opposed to the physical rubberised trackball solution that can be prone to wear and tear.

Other competing handsets include the recently launched Android powered Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 as well as two miniaturised version of the same model called the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini and Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro. The original Xperia X10 features a larger 4 inch touch screen and a higher resolution 8 mega pixel camera which is the most advanced available on any Android phone.

For those on a tighter budget but still wanting an Android powered handset, Samsung have launched their Samsung Galaxy Portal and LG their LG GW620 InTouch Max which are available at cheaper prices. Other include the Motorola Milestone which competes with a 5.0 mega pixel camera but also adds in a physical slide out Qwerty keyboard.

The HTC Desire has now completed its network roll-outs with all of the leading operators including deals on the Pay As You Go system and as a SIM Free and unlocked mobile phone.
