SESCIL Set to Revamp its Website

April 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL) of Englewood, New Jersey, was founded and funded in 1978 by 11 municipalities from the Southeast region of Bergen County. Bogota, Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Fairview, Fort Lee, Leonia, Palisade Park, Ridgefield and Ridgefield Park committed to pool their Community Development (HUD) fund allotments and have a collective project of their own. They chose a health project, the Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL), which provides preventive and maintenance health care services to the elderly on an individual basis.

“We have had a website at www.SESCIL.org since 2006, and are always looking for ways to enhance its usage by our clients” says Kevin Kyle a SESCIL board member and chair of the Web Usage Committee. “We post the monthly schedule of activities which range from low-fee dentistry, exercise, music, language, weight loss, finance / investment discussions and recreational programs. We have a volunteer photographer who has taken pictures of many of our programs. Our Webmaster is also a volunteer and a member of the Board as well.”

SESCIL has begun a project to link their website to each of the neighboring town websites. These links will appear on the “Important Links” section of the SESCIL homepage. “It is our goal to become the primary site for seniors to get information”, Kyle said. “For example, a senior from Cliffside Park can sign onto www.SESCIL.org, see what activities we offer and then link to the Cliffside Park website to see what senior activities are offered by that town.”

The Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL) is located at 228 Grand Avenue in Englewood, New Jersey. Seniors 55 and over can benefit from SESCIL’s myriad programs and services by simply joining the Center.
