A Complete Mindfulness Program Launches

With Mental Health Week coming-up May 3-9, 2010 statistics are everywhere letting us know we are more stressed out than ever – 30% more stressed than we were last year (Canadian Mental Health Association 2009). We require more from ourselves and others but with fewer resources, less money, less time and fewer people to support us.  We know meditation would help to reduce stress, meditation makes us more efficient and effective in our lives and even happier but we simply don’t have the time it takes to commit to learn and use meditation as a stress reduction tool.

Simone Riml and YeShey Palmo, co-founders of Meditation Village, with years of research and development, have a created a daily mindfulness meditation program to solve the problem. This program is for people who recognize stress reduction is an inside job and believe meditation might help but have little or no time to commit to a meditation practice.  

At the core of this audio program (supported by a robust website of forums, blogs and personal support if needed) are meditation techniques and practices from the Buddhist path.  What Simone and YeShey have done is deliver a fresh and innovative learning approach to make meditating accessible and easy for those willing to “go inside.”  They have done a first-rate job of taking vast amounts of philosophy, knowledge, and teachings about the mind and meditation and distilled it into small bytes of instruction and words of wisdom strategically placed over several minutes each day to guide and motivate the listener.

Day by day, in just over 8-weeks (11-minutes a day for 21-days and then 20-minutes a day for 40 days) a true meditation practice emerges.  What comes with a consistent meditation practice is perhaps what we have all forgotten is possible, access to the peacefulness that resides behind every busy mind and an ability to be calm and focused no matter what is going on ‘out there.’
