April 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Mobileye Inc., a global pioneer and leader in life-saving vision-based driver assistance systems and analytics for leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers, today announced the establishment of a partnership with InstallerNet Inc., a Boston-based company that coordinates installation of consumer electronics through the largest network of independently owned electronics installers in the United States.

The newly formed alliance comes as the rate of accidents and on-road fatalities caused by driver-distraction reaches unprecedented levels.  In response, the partnership will provide Mobileye customers with immediate access to InstallerNet's nationwide network of more than 1,500 installation facilities in addition to Mobileye’s existing dealer network.  Receiving comprehensive training and certified testing on all Mobileye aftermarket technologies, those professionals will be readily available for any driver or fleet interested in incorporating Mobileye’s breakthrough accident-avoidance and risk mitigation systems into their vehicle.

With driver distraction playing an ever-increasing role in accidents and fatalities, business and consumer demand for in-vehicle real-time safety solutions is on the rise. Innovative Mobileye driver assistance technologies, such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Headway Monitoring (HMW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems, help alert drivers to potentially life-threatening situations.

The ability to save lives via intelligent vision-based technology is one area that automotive manufacturers, fleet operators, consumers and government agencies like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) agree on as a safety solution. The popularity of Mobileye’s technologies is further evidenced by the growing number of OEMs -such as BMW, Volvo and General Motors- that are integrating the life-saving systems into their vehicles.

Mobileye’s aftermarket line is led by the C2-170, a driver-safety system developed specifically for passenger and fleet vehicles. A modern, comprehensive, single camera-based safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, the C2-170 has generated international automotive industry acclaim, receiving the United Kingdom’s prestigious Fleet Safety Forum Award for Excellence 2009, sponsored by Brake - Road Safety Charity - in the Fleet Safety Product category.

With its compact, versatile and aesthetically streamlined design, the C2-170 only uses minimal “real estate” in the vehicle.   Based on the company’s acclaimed vehicle- and lane-detection technologies, the   new product employs “EyeWatch1,” a premium-quality, high visibility windshield or dash mounted visual display unit.  Incorporating design elements recommended by distributors from throughout the world, “EyeWatch1” utilizes a smaller more versatile screen with high-density visual indications, which feature clearer, more powerful display icons when compared with preceding technology.

A three-in-one safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, C2-170 provides drivers with warnings against collision with a vehicle ahead, unintended lane-departure and insufficient distance-keeping.  Featuring high-intensity color-coded visual icons, C2-170 reduces the occurrence of accidents and related costs while improving safety through the usage of turn signals, breaking patterns and headway keeping.

InstallerNet President and CEO Anthony Frangiosa said the newly formed partnership “provides InstallerNet and its members with an exceptional opportunity to gain access to the technologies that are spurring this rapidly emerging sector within the automotive aftermarket.  Mobileye has established itself the definitive brand in vision-based driver assistance technologies that save lives and minimize risks caused by driver distraction.”

InstallerNet will also equip its own ProTeam fleet of vans with the latest Mobileye aftermarket technologies, providing the company with a first-hand opportunity to demonstrate the systems to its installer retailer members. InstallerNet’s ProTeam has visited and profiled more than 800 independent retailer locations over the past 18 months.

Mobileye, Inc. CEO Skip Kinford said the alliance “furthers our goal of making Mobileye technologies accessible to aftermarket customers throughout North America.  Given InstallerNet’s reputation and the unparalleled professionalism of their certified installer network, this new relationship ideally furthers our objective of partnering with marketers and suppliers who have established leadership positions in their respective industries.”
