April 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Massachusetts - Tender Beauty™ Foundation, Inc. and the Blackstone River Watershed Association (BRWA) brought a total of 107 volunteers out to the Blackstone Heritage National Park on Saturday, April 24, 2010, to help clean up trash and debris dumped along the Blackstone River banks.

“We’re so grateful to all the students, community members, Board members, and Park Rangers who helped out at the event,” says Johanna Lolax, President and Founder of Tender Beauty™ Foundation, Inc. “Many were recruited from my Facebook group, “I Bet I Can Find 100 People Who Want to Clean Up the Blackstone River!”

“Governor Patrick even made a stop at the site in the morning to cheer the group, then helped us pick up trash at Purgatory Chasm,” Lolax says. “We bagged trash, hauled tires and an old mattress, and cleaned the banks until lunchtime. The group also made quick work of the 20 pizzas, 50 bags of chips, and two cases of spring water at the River Bend Farm Visitor’s Center, courtesy of Tender Beauty™ Foundation, Inc. and the BRWA.”

Lolax established Tender Beauty™ Foundation, Inc. in 2008, when she launched her new enterprise, TenderBeautyPearls™.com, an internet-based, discount pearl jewelry company. The Foundation, an all-volunteer, grant-giving organization, was established to protect the world's oceans and waterways, wildlife, and people, among other projects. The Foundation receives a portion of profits from www.tenderbeautypearls™.com.

“I wanted to help my community, and so I founded Tender Beauty™ Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting environmental and social causes,” says
Lolax. “The Foundation’s primary mission is preservation of the world’s oceans and waterways. We received our 501 c 3 status in April, 2009. The clean up at the Blackstone Heritage National Park is our first volunteer project, with many more to come.”
