Fun Factor in Middlebury, CT Thriving Under New Ownership by Southbury, CT, Resident

Ribas opened the Fun Factor “Inflatable Fun for Everyone” franchise (www.funfactorusa.com) in the back of the Middlebury Racquetball building at 950 Southfield Road in Middlebury in October of 2009. “It’s an ideally situated building that is well-known to area residents and drivers along the highly-trafficked Route 188. Plus it’s in a highly-visible location minutes from the popular Golden Age of Trucking Museum and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.” Unique to Fun Factor is the offering of Open Play. “Similar activity facilities in the TriBury, Waterbury region are only open for structured private parties on weekends,” stated Ribas.

“At Fun Factor, we are open seven days each week, and we offer private parties, plus open play and activity areas for children. We offer an exclusive Toddler Zone for children ages 1 to 5, plus indoor activities for kids of all ages seven days each week. Activities include a giant 18-foot fire truck, 40-foot sports arena, Velcro Wall, Boxing Ring, Obstacle Course, arcades, and refreshments. Our features can be enjoyed rain or shine, year-round, so we’re getting a lot of calls for summer camp programs and fundraising events.”

Corporations in the local area are also joining in the Fun Factor adventures. Operations Manager Dawn Shapiro, explained, “We offer private and semi private parties so people can enjoy the entire facility for themselves. Several local corporations have booked holiday, team-building, retreat events because of our exclusive party offerings throughout the year.”

Each month Fun Factor rotates their inflatable offerings that range from slide, climbing and bouncing inflatable activities for children and adults as well as air hockey tables, videos and more.

Open every weekday, plus holidays and school breaks, Fun Factor is making a big hit for organizations and families in the Middlebury, Woodbury, and Waterbury area. “Weekends book up very quickly,” stated Ribas. “The Private and semi-private parties are extremely popular.” Party packages range from Mini- parties for 11 children, to Adventures and Ultimate Adventures for up to 17 children. “The difference between Adventures and Ultimate Adventures,” explained Ribas, “is the deluxe paper goods, balloons, goodie bags, birthday cake and a special T-shirt designed for the birthday child is included for all attendees. Drinks, paper goods and invitations are provided to all kids in every package.”
Private teen parties do great at Fun Factor”, stated Ribas. “We usually book night time private events for teens ages 11 to 15,” explained Ribas. “We have a large facility with at 8,000 square feet, so we can easily accommodate at types of parties at one time. Typically we will book party start times at least one hour apart.”

Memberships are offered at Fun Factor ranging from annual play programs Mondays through Fridays for individuals at $149/year, families with up to three children at $249/year and $79 for each additional child. Anytime Membership fees range from $249/individual/year, to families up to three children at $399, and $99 for each additional child. This includes unlimited play for the year along with discounts on birthday parties.  

The facility is open year-round for children and adults for a few hours of activities, private and semi-private parties, full-day events, and much more. These memberships can also be applied to the Fun Factor facility located at 1106 Federal Road in Brookfield, Connecticut.

Rental of outdoor inflatable activities are also available from both the Middlebury and Brookfield Fun Factor locations. “We’ve got everything from inflatable obstacle courses and dunk tanks to bungee runs. These are great fun particularly for corporate events, special events, and non-profit organization fundraisers,” stated Ribas.
