Ancon Construction Breaks Ground for Basney Honda

April 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Mishawaka, IN. – Ancon Construction Company broke ground on the new 36,323 SF Basney Honda Dealership in Mishawaka, Indiana. The new dealership will be located on the site of the existing dealership at 3820 N. Grape Road in Mishawaka. The two-story building will double the size of the dealership’s showroom and triple the capacity of the service area. The project will consolidate the dealerships new and used car operations under one roof.

Steve Brindle, Project Manager at Ancon, said “The greatest challenge is phasing construction activities in such a way that Basney Honda Dealership continues to sell cars and serve their customers, without interruption.  There is no place to stage materials on site, so everything must arrive when it is time to install”.

Construction began with the vacant lot on the east where a subsurface storm water retention basin has been over laid with asphalt for additional parking. First phase of the new building will be the 16,319 SF Service Center.  Once it is completed and the service department is fully operational, the two existing original buildings will be demolished.  


The second phase of building construction includes the 20,004 SF Showroom/Sales/Parts structure.  The existing parking areas will receive a fresh topping of asphalt and new parking lot lights will be erected.  Landscaping will be revitalized, and the parking lots paint striped.
