Bunnings Wangaratta is just the beginning for Wide Span Industrial

May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Two years of tough negotiations and keeping up with Australia’s strict building standards has proved a winner for Wide Span Industrial who will be supplying the pre-engineered built up frame for Bunnings Warehouse in Wangaratta.

Wide Span Industrial’s industrial sales specialist, Manuel Delgado, said the whole process has been a long drawn out development, but well worth the wait.

“In September 2007 we were approached by Bunnings and asked to come up with a range of pre-engineered building designs for their regional locations. We worked tirelessly with Michael Carr Architects to find the best solution to meet their requirements … and as a result we were one of two companies that were selected as a preferred supplier.

“After a prolonged tender specification period, we were asked to meet with Bunnings Warehouse’s regional project manager to submit our indicative pricing and commence tender pricing of their regional stores,” said Manuel.

According to Mr Delgado, Wide Span Industrial was originally looking at providing a light gauge steel design, but due to changes within the industry and increasingly stringent Australian standards, these designs limited the clearspans achievable at top end. Wide Span Sheds then made the decision to investigate a new range based on pre-engineered built up frames.

“This frame proved more flexible in design than the light gauge steel and was also comparable in price. As a result Wide Span Industrial decided to use that frame in future reply to Bunnings enquiries,” said Manuel.

And the rest is history! Bunnings selected Wide Span Industrial to supply the built up frame and they will be working closely with builders H.L Cuthbert.

“Bunnings base their developments on groups who have worked together on other projects, so we are hoping our partnership with H.L Cuthbert will be the catalyst for future [Bunnings] regional projects.

“This is a great opportunity for Wide Span Industrial to prove what we are capable of, and to increase our profile into a growing market – the medium sized industrial market,” said Manuel.
