Trandotcom Achieves Pci Dss Certification – Level 1

May 14, 2010 - PRLog -- KENNESAW, GA – May 14, 2010 – For the second consecutive year, TranDotCom Solutions of Kennesaw GA has received the highest level security certification awarded by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council. The comprehensive PCI compliance audit evaluates the secure storage and transmission of credit and debit card transaction data.

Founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., the PCI Security Standards Council issues certification for compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS). The standard was created to help organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through implementation of increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. Internationally, PCI DSS certification is required by all major banks to process directly with them. The certification applies to all organizations or merchants that accept, transmit or store any cardholder data.

“Achieving Level 1 certification from PCI is part of our ongoing commitment to the security plan for our systems and infrastructure,” according to Chris Carson, EVP and COO TranDotCom.  Carson also explains that “since the audit examines every aspect of transaction processing including storage and encryption of data, software development, hosting environment, and operations practices, it really tests every aspect of our Loan Management System as a whole.”

Level 1 PCI certification requires audit by an outside firm. The TranDotCom review was conducted by T3i, a leading risk management consultancy that specializes in security, regulatory compliance and other industry certifications. The T3i report cited that TranDotCom had passed its audit with 100% compliance, and that “all requirements in the Report on Compliance (ROC) are marked in place and a passing scan has been completed….thereby TranDotCom Solutions has demonstrated full compliance with the PCI DSS v1.2.”  

As the latest version of PCI DSS, v1.2 is more stringent that the prior version. The standards ensure that any credit card data is totally encrypted at all times. Additionally, networks are tested to ascertain that no outside entry can gain access to secure information. Annual re-certification, including a full audit, is required.

“We were pleased to come through the review fully compliant across all our systems,” reports Carson. “Given the constraints of the new version, there will be fewer companies qualifying for certification at the level that we have,” he continues.

As a global certification, the PCI DSS Level 1 accreditation covers all TranDotCom processing, including customers in Canada and the United Kingdom.
