Follow on Google News | Die Hard Director Donates Cameo To Worldwide Movie Role AuctionRenny Harlin, Director of Hollywood movies Die Hard and Cliffhanger, is the latest high profile movie industry figure to donate a role in a forthcoming movie as part of a worldwide charity auction that has already raised more than $105,000.
By: BuyaMovieRole.com Charity web site BuyaMovieRole.com, which is the brainchild of MTV film director, Tim Burke, Stray Dogs Producer, Peter Slack and BBC and Tiger Aspect producer Jack Simcock, has launched the first ever auction of movie roles. Members of the public can bid online and via eBay for a range of lots including film set visits, premiere tickets, film experiences, dates with movie stars and actual film roles, including producer roles, cameos, walk-on and speaking parts. Donations from the auction will go to a number of film and entertainment industry charities set up by A-List celebrities. These include WWF: Year of The Tiger and Supporting Children Charities abroad with The Quintessentially Foundation. Hollywood star Miranda Richardson is among the stars supporting the initiative. She says: "This is a fantastic and innovative initiative which will raise vitally needed funds to save the tiger. With as few as 3,200 tigers now left in the wild we need to act urgently to preserve this amazing creature for future generations" There are also eight movie lots to choose from, including roles in the following forthcoming films: The Robin Hood Tax - Starring Ben Kingsley and Bill Nighy. Catwalk - The new film by legendary, horror director, Tony Hickox. The Harrowing - A Blair Witch meets Paranormal Activity style thriller by MTV Director Tim Burke.
