Follow on Google News | Pg Paper Team Up With Action For ChildrenPG Paper, one of the biggest exporters in Scotland, has teamed up with Action for Children Scotland to sponsor, and take part in, their charity 5-a-side football tournament – The Charity Cup.
By: Creative Oceanic PG Paper Company Ltd was established by husband and wife team Puneet and Poonam Gupta in 2003. Salvaging, and finding uses for industrial commodities that would normally go to waste or landfill, and recycling, is central to business for PG Paper, who work from their base in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire. The company – now a truly global exporter, with its operations spread across all continents – is projecting a further 100% growth in the next couple of years. This high level of success allowed the couple to focus more on giving back and while they have many charity endeavours across the globe Action for Children Scotland, being right on their doorstep, is one that they feel particularly passionate about. Speaking about the upcoming event, PG Paper founder, Poonam Gupta said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be involved with Action for Children Scotland; it is a charity we hold very close to our hearts and jumped at the chance to be the official sponsor and, of course, take part in each of their events. Although I won’t be lending my indisputable football skills on the day I will be sure to be cheering on my husband and our team from the sidelines. It’s all a bit of fun really but with a very serious message behind it and that’s what’s most important, raising money for this charity and getting help and support for the children that need it most.” Action for Children Scotland’s Charity Cup and Sports Dinner helps to raise awareness and money for the plight of abused and neglected children around the country. So while the events promise to be a great day and night for all involved, it does have a serious message behind it. Action for Children is one of Scotland’s leading children’s charities and supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable children and young people in Scotland and throughout the UK. It runs more than 60 services across Scotland to help 8000 of the country’s most disadvantaged children and young people. Paul Carberry, Director of Operations for the charity said: “It’s wonderful to see a successful company like PG Paper putting something back into the community by supporting our charity events. Without Action for Children Scotland life would be harder for many children, young people and families in Scotland. The support from PG Paper will allow us to do even more for the children who need our help.” Action for Children Scotland’s Charity Cup is taking place on Friday 21st May at the Celtic training centre in Lennoxtown with their Sports Dinner scheduled for Friday 11th June at 29 Glasgow with host Radio Clyde’s Peter Martin and guest speaker, Celtic and Scotland legend, Frank McAvennie.
