May 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Puneet Gupta, founder of PG Paper, along with wife Poonam, has said “We had such good intentions when we first signed up to the charity cup, we were going to train regularly and be in great shape to take on the other companies taking part, this is not quite the way it has played out.”

Action for Children Scotland has organised a The Charity Cup and The Sports Dinner to raise money and awareness for the charity and the plight of some of the most vulnerable children in Scotland. The Charity Cup is taking place on Friday 21st May at the Celtic training centre in Lennoxtown with The Sports Dinner scheduled for Friday June 11th  at 29 Glasgow with host Radio Clyde’s Peter Martin and guest speaker, Celtic and Scotland legend, Frank McAvennie.

So with only a few days left until the charity match is due to go ahead how does PG Paper’s team fancy their chances? “I think we just have to hope the other teams have been as unregulated in their training as us” said Puneet. “We’ve just been so busy business-wise so hopefully the other companies’ teams have had the same, obviously positive, afflictions as us. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if we are huff and puff up and down the pitch as long as we raise lots of money and awareness for Action for Children.”

PG Paper was established in 2003 and has thrived even in the current economic situation. The company has established itself as one of the biggest exporters in Scotland with projections for a further 100% growth in the next few years. Salvaging industrial commodities that would normally go to waste, finding uses for them and recycling is central to business for PG Paper. The company has a long list of charity endeavours under their belt but feel especially strongly about Action for Children Scotland as it is just so close to home.

Action for Children Scotland is one of the largest providers of services to children and young people in Scotland and each year provide direct help to over 8000 of Scotland’s most vulnerable children, young people and their families.
