KDAY 93.5’s DJ So Real host up-coming Los Angeles ULMII showcase June 27th

May 21, 2010 - PRLog -- KDAY 93.5 FM’s DJ So Real will host “Uplifting Minds II” entertainment conference’s national talent competition showcase in Los Angeles starting with the Sunday, June 27, 2010 event to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center (West Hall-Theater). Judges will include Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson, VP’s” Ashley Argota (Lulu).

The talent showcase, from 5 – 7 p.m., is the second half of the entertainment conference which starts with seminars from 1 – 4 p.m. Admission to the talent showcase is free, but pre-registration and fee is attached to the seminars.

KDAY 93.5 FM has sponsored the event by hosting the showcase since 2007. The station has a history in Hip-Hop with today’s format consisting of “back in the day hits.” KDAY’s DJ So Real will be on hand to move things along and get feedback from the judges on the performances.

Actress/singer Ashley Argota (Lulu on “True Jackson, VP”) will serve on the panel of judges that include such industry people as award winning Jazz guitarist and label owner Vernon Neilly, film producer/director Ben Foster and legendary radio personality Lee Bailey (RadioScope, www.EURweb.com) - who is also a media sponsor along with KDAY and the L.A. Watts Times.

Some of the seminars include “21st Century Ways of Marketing” by Vernon Neilly, president of Boosweet, LLC (www.Boosweet.com) and “PR/media and promotions strategies” by Eunice Moseley, president of Freelance Associates (a PR/media and promotions consultant firm) and syndicated entertainment columnist (www.ThePulseofEntertainment.com). The competition will showcase ten acts to be judged in vocals, songwriting and/or dance for a chance to win the ULMII Award and a list of prizes.
