May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Sponsors of the event, PG Paper, who put forward their handpicked team, didn’t fare so well in the tournament, the export giants from Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire came in 4th in their group being beaten out by Diageo in the 4th round. And, after a long day of knockouts and qualifiers the final battle was between Soccer Savings and Penmans with Penmans winning in the final minutes.

Moments after the tournament, Puneet Gupta, founder of PG Paper, along with wife Poonam, said, “Of course we would have loved to win, but we didn’t have very high hopes, especially considering the very sparse, sporadic training sessions before the tournament.”

Action for Children Scotland’s Charity Cup and Sports Dinner, being held on June 11th at 29 Glasgow with host, Radio Clyde’s, Peter Martin and guest speaker, Celtic and Scotland legend, Frank McAvennie, help to raise awareness and money for the plight of abused and neglected children around the country.

Action for Children is one of Scotland’s leading children’s charities and supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable children and young people in Scotland and throughout the UK. It runs more than 60 services across Scotland to help 8000 of the country’s most disadvantaged children and young people.

Puneet continues, saying, “We had such a brilliant day, it was great fun and we got to meet a lot of new people but all that we really care about, I think all that any of the companies taking part care about, is raising money for Action for Children Scotland. They do such incredible work and we are just happy to be a part of that as sponsors for both The Charity Cup and Sports Dinner.”

PG Paper Company Ltd was established by husband and wife team Puneet and Poonam Gupta in 2003. Salvaging, and finding uses for industrial commodities that would normally go to waste or landfill, and recycling, is central to business for PG Paper. The company – now a truly global exporter, with its operations spread across all continents – is projecting a further 100% growth in the next couple of years.
