Westbourne 'launches insulation drive'

May 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Residents in Westbourne are bidding to make the village the most insulated area in West Sussex, it has been revealed.

They are launching a campaign that will see them try to get as many properties fitted with loft and cavity wall insulation as possible and if enough people sign up, local firm Sterling Assist will give one of the community buildings free insulation.

Colin Carre, chairman of the Greening Westbourne drive, noted that 2010 will see a big move towards improving the quality of home insulation in the area.

He added that individuals had saved an estimated 78 tonnes of CO2 and £15,000 a year between them.

It comes under the national Greening Campaign, which is trying to effect climate change at a local level.

The official website says: "It is an innovative idea to help motivate people to reduce their energy consumption and therefore lower their personal and community carbon footprint."
