App-DNA AppTitude Release 4.5 Brings Faster Application Testing

AppTitude 4.5 brings enhancements for both enterprise customers managing application compatibility and service providers working with multiple enterprises on application testing and remediation projects. Available immediately, AppTitude 4.5 smooths the application compatibility road blocks that major enterprises experience when managing migrations Windows 7, Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp and 64bit computing.

For AppTitude customers, the new release brings enterprise-level advancements:
-          Remediation level action reporting – AppTitude provides Intelligent Remediation™ options based on heuristic algorithms, providing suggestions for fixing application issues. This provides full flexibility to choose automatic fixes in the right situation but also provides detailed information for tailored remediation rather than ‘blind’ fix approach..  AppTitude 4.5 now also provides enterprises an option to add their own remediation actions, based on internal best practices and local mitigation. With these additional options, enterprises have better information for planning and resource management.
-          More scalable reporting - many large enterprises need to import hundreds or thousands of applications into AppTitude for assessment. This new version brings the ability to view large application portfolios in the Assessment and Overview reports with paged reporting and interactive view filtering, allowing easier access to pertinent reporting data.
-          Enhanced importing – no need to create special application repositories, just point AppTitude toward the application repository and let it run. AppTitude 4.5 now allows importing of upwards of 1000 apps in a single session to deliver more robust importing for enterprises that import large numbers of apps.
-          Support for Citrix XenApp 6.0 –complementing the new release of XenApp, AppTitude 4.5 now reflects the added functionality of the technology such as the ability to create profiles that include services, support for 16 bit DOS applications, and checks for streaming 64bit applications. The new version also simplifies the complexity surrounding application management and delivery into virtualized application and desktop environments like XenDesktop.
-          Server 2008 R2 module-delivers application compatibility on the latest Windows Server build to utilize new algorithms for Windows 2008 and the latest Windows 7 changes to provide extra compatibility checks for enterprises.
For service providers, AppTitude 4.5 brings additional enhancements:
-          Faster installation improvements, ideal for service providers using AppTitude in multiple engagements or over several locations
-          Enhanced license management, including moving licenses between machines
-          Site and database switcher - connecting multiple AppTitude databases,  providing better coordination between customer and SI packaging teams, simplifying processes for service providers to add new AppTitude customers
-          AppTitude Web Server-offers a ‘local’ alternative to creating an IIS web service, useful for service providers doing migration Proof of Concepts, addressing the IIS challenge during setups.
