Student Designers Create Banner for 25th Anniversary Aids Walk in Boston

May 27, 2010 - PRLog -- For the Aids Action Committee, based in Boston, 2010 is a milestone year.  It marks the 25th anniversary of the Aids Walk on June 6th.

On display at the starting point on the Esplanade on the Charles River, will be the banner commemorating the anniversary, designed by the Graphic Design students and BluePrint Studios at The New England Institute of Art.

“We have a long-standing and wonderful relationship with the Aids Action Committee,” says Michael Goldberg, Assistant Academic Chair, Associate Professor of Graphic Design and head of BluePrint Studios.  “We adopted them a few years ago, having our students design a tee-shirt and some other collateral.  That has grown and we are proud, that this year, they asked BluePrint to create the banner.”

BluePrint Studio is a class for advanced students in the Bachelor of Science Degree program at the College.  Other clients have included; Brookline Access Television, the Campfire Girls and The Chinatown YMCA among others.

“Our partnership with Blueprint Studios has benefitted the Walk in so many ways,” says James Poulos, Assistant Director of Development for the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. “Working with the students and Mike has given us a fresh perspective that really harkens back to the grassroots origins of the Walk. Plus, their generous donation of time and creative talents means that more of the money raised through the event goes to support the vital programs and services AAC delivers to the community.”
