On Republican Electoral Future


Los Angeles, California – A new Republican Hispanic political consulting firm is entering the highly charged national political scene.  Latino Political Consulting (LPC) has opened its doors and has its sights set on the mid-term elections and sending a Republican back to the White House in 2012.

“Being Hispanic and being Republican are not mutually exclusive,” said Rafael Béjar, LPC National Director, who served as the former RNC Director of Hispanic Coalitions under Ken Mehlman and is an Adjunct Professor at The Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University.  “Latino Political Consulting was formed specifically to help Republican candidates and campaigns better connect to and communicate our shared message and values with Latino voters.”

“We understand the community, because we belong to the community,” said Luis Alvarado, LPC Managing Director and Chairman of the Los Angeles National Republican Hispanic Assembly.   “From immigration to the economy to education, we know how to frame the issues and rally grassroots support within the Latino community.”

Demographically, Hispanics constitute 15.5% of the total population in the United States and account for 50.5% of the nation’s growth since 2000.  

“The fact is that the Latino community is and will continue to be a significant part of the American electorate, both here in California and at the national level,” said Moises Merino, LPC Principal and former Political Director for the California GOP.  “The Hispanic community is California’s largest swing constituency, with the power to be the difference between winning and losing a campaign.”
