The Veld Group Brokers Restaurateur Sean MacPherson’s Purchase of the Former Orso Restaurant

June 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA - When bi-coastal Restaurateur Taylor Lumia sought to sell his family’s beloved LA eatery, Orso, he used the The Veld Group to broker what has become one of the most anticipated restaurant takeovers in recent LA history.  

The Veld Group’s Director of Sales, Ryan Clark, says the large deal has helped to solidify their role as an industry leader in one of their core market segments: Bar, Restaurant and General Hospitality business sales. “This transaction has not only resonated with our local community, it has made news across the country due to both MacPherson’s and Lumia’s Los Angeles and New York presence.” says Clark.  

The Veld Group also brokered the sale of the adjacent apartment complex adjacent to Cedars Sinai Hospital and The Beverly Center to MacPherson’s company, Committed Inc.  “This was a very exciting project for us to be involved with since it’s always a pleasure to work with well respected clients such as Taylor Lumia, Orso’s Seller, and Sean MacPherson, the Buyer.  With parties like these involved, fantastic things happen and trend setting businesses are launched.”

Orso Los Angeles, which opened in 1989, was a bi-coastal Italian restaurant on West 3rd Street near Robertson Blvd. and known for their prime Los Angeles location, stylish patio and frequent celebrity sightings.  The property was purchased by MacPherson before the popular restaurant closed their doors last November.  Since that time, restaurant goers are anticipating what will become of the 100-seat restaurant property scheduled to open late summer/early fall 2010.

Sean MacPherson is a familiar face in the New York and LA hotel and restaurant scene.  His company, Committed Inc., also owns The Park Hotel, The Maritime Hotel, The Waverly Inn, Jane Hotel, Lafayette House Hotel, Gemma, Matsuri, La Bottega, B Bar and Grill and most recently The Crow’s Hotel (Hamptons) in New York.  He is also the proprietor of Swingers, El Carmen, Jones, Good Luck Bar, Bar Lubitsch, Roger Room, and now the former Orso with the new concept to be named in Los Angeles.
