Harley Davidson star prize at charity rally

June 15, 2010 - PRLog -- An iconic Harley Davidson motorbike will be driven away by one supporter of the charity Afghan Heroes at an event in Chepstow later this month.

Worth over £5,000 the bike will be on display at the Thunder Rally event at Chepstow race course on 25, 26 and 27 June with one person winning it in a prize competition.

The rally is raising money for the Afghan Heroes charity and has been arranged so people from all walks of life can show their support for troops in Afghanistan and take their families while having a great weekend’s entertainment.

The bike is a brand new Harley Davidson SPORTSTER XL883 LOW and will be delivered in blue for collection from the stage on Saturday 26 June when the competition ends.

Denise Harris, founder of Afghan Heroes said: “This is a very special prize and we are selling tickets at £10 each. We hope the chance to win this iconic motorbike will encourage people to not only demonstrate their generosity but show the troops in Afghanistan that the country is right behind them.”

The charity was set up by families who have lost loved ones in the Afghanistan conflict and now provides support to other families.

It has also arranged for 10,000 boxes of home comforts to be delivered to all front line serving troops who will receive them on Armed Forces Day, Saturday 26 June in Helmand Province.

Thunder Rally at Chepstow is a weekend including a fly-past by the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight featuring historic aircraft from the Second World War; the famous White Helmets motorcycle display team from the Royal Corps of Signals and the Tiger children’s motorcycle display team.

Friday evening entertainment will include the Parachute Regiment Display Team. There will be a funfair throughout the weekend and music from top AC/DC tribute band Hell’s Bells; The Cheap Suits, Matt Shaw’s Meatloaf Experience, Dementia, Lime Shark, Frixton and many more.

The winner of the motorbike is responsible for the purchase of the road-fund license and first registration fee.
