June 19, 2010 - PRLog -- With so much anger in the air and trouble under the "sea", the United States is already having a stressful political year.  DeficitAid, a website dedicated to government spending issues, has launch a tee-shirt shop with "cool 4th of July" designs with the idea that for one day of year, let's just agree on one concept. We are all proud to be Americans.

The concepts behind the design are created by well know fashion designer Vasu.  His experience with designing tee shirts for leading brands on 7th Avenue has been mostly in the urban 18 to 34 years old market.  The objective for DeficitAid 4th of July products was to move away from traditional red, white and blue standard looks to a new 21st century patriotic mood.

There are four designs in all.  The Hand is a provocative design that evokes a wide range of responses.  Does it mean, "talk to the hand" or "stop America, you're on the wrong track" or none of the above.  Vasu admits the concept just looked cool to him with out any real message.  The Hand is definitely a conversation starter.

Similarly, Rocker is a interesting portrait of young punk rocker patriotic kid.  A perfect shirt for the young budding rock star in the family.  Piano Dreams evokes the essences of America for all those kids who took piano lessons and spent endless hours practicing to then be rewarded with a lucrative career in music. Or, for those who still dream about living the dream.

Finally, National Anthem is an amazing flag design which uses of the national anthem lyrics to create the American flag.  Vasu then adds a graphic of a peace sign hand.  The juxtaposition of the traditional flag with the peace hand sends an interesting message.  America has moved beyond the message that the peace sign is part of a movement in the 60's, to now the peace is a patriotic symbol and an American ideal.

DeficitAid selected to use Facebook new Shop Now feature for a variety of reasons.  The app company Payvment created a Facebook shopping app.  The software allowed DeficitAid to build a robust e-commerce quickly.  Sitting the app on top of Facebook's community with its social media marketing power offers tremendous potential .  The company intends to expand on the patriotic them into a new apparel line after the independence day celebrations have ended.

The shirts are priced at 19.95, but discounts are offer for those who "like" and become "fans" of the page.  To view these four amazing 4th of July Shirts, go to www.facebook.com/deficitaid.
