Dark Star Orchetra Comes to bergenPAC

Named by the Washington Post as, "The Hottest Grateful Dead Tribute Act Going," The Dark Star Orchestra recreates a classic Grateful Dead set on the begenPAC stage this August.

June 21, 2010 - PRLog -- (Englewood Cliffs NJ June 20, 2010) -- Dark Star Orchestra each night recreates a classic set list from the Dead including hits such as Bertha, Uncle Johns Band, Truckin’, Deal, Touch of Grey and US Blues. See Dark Star Orchestra live Saturday August 7, 2010.  Using entire shows from the Grateful Dead’s 30 years of extensive touring as a launching pad, Dark Star Orchestra recreates the original song for song performance set list for an entirely new generation of Deadheads. DSO will be performing live at bergenPAC August 7 and their interpretations will be nothing less than breathe taking due to DSO’s performances being compared to an orchestra of many different classical composers.

Dark Star Orchestra adapts their stage positioning, vocal arrangements, specific musical equipment and instruments to fit the era of the show they are performing. Following each performance, the band announces the date and venue of the original performance. Dark Star Orchestra could dip into any incarnation of the dead at any of their shows, allowing fans to experience shows that happened long before they were born.

Current Members of the band are Jeff Matson, Rob Eaton, Kevin Rosen, Lisa Mackey, Rob Koritz, Dino English and Rob Barraco. Dark Star Orchestra has drawn national attention with their true-to-life performances and have been recognized and praised by the Rolling Stone, USA Today and the Washington Post.

What Dark Star Orchestra achieves is a continuation of the spirit of what has now become over forty years of the Grateful Dead’s timeless music. Don’t miss out on this life changing experience on August 7 at 8pm, all ages allowed, even if they are seven! Visit www.bergenPAC.org or call the box office: 201-227-1030.
