June 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Allied Health Institute (AHI) has just opened its new corporate headquarters in North Lauderdale, Florida.  On Wednesday, June 9, Vice Mayor of Lauderhill Dale Holness, currently running for District 9’s City Commissioner, was proud to cut the ceremonial red ribbon officially opening the school to the public.  This new location will provide classrooms for students to practice a variety of clinical skills needed in healthcare fields which continue to be in high demand.  The school will continue to serve the Fort Lauderdale area and the nation as one of the leaders in healthcare education.  Chairman of the Board Nadine Thompson comments, “This new location will provide an added resource for our students as well as the community.  AHI will offer CPR and First Aid classes as a free service to the community of North Lauderdale for the entire month of September, 2010.”

AHI is one of the first fully online postsecondary schools licensed by the Commission for Independent Education and accredited by ABHES. The three founders of the school are considered the pioneers of online allied health education.  The CEO, Jennifer Anglin is responsible for creating the first online Medical Assisting program offered nationwide.   Jennifer Anglin states “Allied Health Institute’s staff and faculty add a unique personal touch when dealing with students, which will become valuable for them in the workforce as well as through their career.”

Distance education offers a convenient and effective method of learning for motivated students via the internet. By offering online programs, students have the flexibility of pursuing goals in a way that best suits their needs and lifestyles. At AHI, the majority of the courses can be completed fully online followed by a clinical rotation. The school’s educational program variety allows students nationwide to earn a diploma in Medical Assisting, EKG Technician, Home Health Aide, Massage Therapy, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Coding Specialist, or Phlebotomy Technician.  Additionally, the school offers Fire Safety Inspector I, and Fire Officer I to individuals located in the state of Florida. Allied Health Institute also assists in providing job placement within the community and across the nation.

The mission of AHI is to provide educational opportunities through web-based courses to ensure equal access to qualified students regardless of geographic area and socio-economic background. AHI is committed to assisting in meeting the healthcare needs of underserved communities by reaching out to dedicated students in remote areas. We seek to provide adults with the opportunity to acquire viable skills to rapidly enter the workforce and contribute to the health, human services, and well being of all those they serve, while meeting a critical shortage of healthcare workers and other human service areas.

Title IV funding is available to those who qualify and the school proudly serves military family members in remote areas with students worldwide stemming from the United States to Haiti, the Caribbean Islands, and Japan.

In January 2010, the founding members of Allied Health Institute launched the International Alliance, a non-profit organization.  This non-profit organization provides education, clothing, and food for disaster relief areas.  From that effort, they embarked upon a project to build an educational facility in a remote area where education was drastically lacking. “The Alliance School at Guibert” was established in the rural mountain area of Goinieve, Haiti.  The school began holding classes for 40 poverty stricken children ranging in ages from 5-9 with plans in August to double the number attending the school to 80 children ranging from the ages of 5-13.  The children attending the Alliance School at Guibert in Haiti are now enriched, vibrant, and satisfied because of the food, education and services provided by Allied Health Institute’s charitable efforts.
