Nature Publishing Group enlist Semantico in metadata enrichment project

Nature Publishing Group have commissioned Semantico, a leading provider of services and technology for online publishing, to complete an important MarkLogic based metadata enrichment project.

June 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Richard Padley, Managing Director, Semantico, said: ‘We’re pleased to be working again with Nature Publishing Group on this innovative project involving metadata enrichment using MarkLogic’s information infrastructure software.’

Amanda Ward, Nature Publishing Group, said, ‘With the Medline Data Loader service from Semantico we have now been able to add MeSH (or Medical Subject Heading) descriptors and other key metadata terms from MEDLINE - the abstracts database from the National Library of Medicine - to our journals platform.  This enrichment of our content is being applied to newly published articles as well as to our archive material and will allow applications to build new discovery channels over the semantic networks we are beginning to put in place on nature.com.’
