Stafford Gadget Fans Queue From 4am For New IphoneGadget fans queued from the very early hours outside O2’s store in the centre, desperate for the first opportunity to buy the iPhone 4. Centre bosses were forced to segregate the huge queues, to allow other shoppers access to the rest of the shops.
By: Richard Swancott The centre’s Marketing Manager Anne Graham said: “We were inundated with excited iPhone fans, with some shoppers getting here as early as 4am! “At one point, the queues extended right down the road and around the corner! “The demand was unprecedented and we had to split the queues because other shoppers were struggling to get around the mall.” O2 store bosses estimated queues were at least twice as long as for any previous iPhone launch, the most successful launch of any product at the Stafford store. Store Manager Keir Bellamy said: “Demand for the iPhone was so high we actually ran out of stock and continued to take many orders as the day went on. “This has definitely been the most successful product launch we’ve ever had.” Further information is available at the centre’s website: www.guildhallstafford.com.
