National Eid Toy and Gift Drive 2010

June 28, 2010 - PRLog -- The Baitul Salaam Network, Inc. a national domestic violence awareness organization coordinates a national toy and gift drive annually to assist families who are struggling financially in the US. "These families deserve to be able to celebrate Eid like everyone else," says Hadayai Majeed, Co-founder and Administrator of the Baitul Salaam Network, Inc. headquartered in the metro Atlanta.

Anyone who lives in a family that makes 50K per year or less is encouraged to apply for a toy or gift that will be shipped by www.muslimtoysanddolls.com to their home by Eid Al Fitr.  Grandparents, foster parents and extended family members are encourage to apply via email to haleem1@aol.com.  

All who want to purchase a toy to donate or give towards shipping (average cost $12.00 per family) can visit the web site at www.muslimtoysanddolls.com to donate.  Please mention that you are placing your order for the annual Eid toy and gift drive coordinated by Baitul Salaam or making a donation towards the shipping of toys to financially struggling families for Eid Al Fitr 2010.

To date Muslim Toys and Dolls the drive sponsor has been able to get 800+ toys/gifts donated from various toy and gift manufacturers and retailers from all over the globe.  The company owned by Debbie Al Harbi carries a great variety of items that are suited for the most discerning taste in items specifically for Muslim families.  The business operated by Ms. Al Harbi and her son is an efficient family managed operation.  They will take great care this year to gift wrap each toy that will be shipped to families who qualify for free toys/gifts through the National Eid Toy and Gift Drive 2010.

The celebration of feasting, visiting neighbors and gift giving that follows the 20 or 30 days of fasting during the month of Ramadan; the ninth month of the Islamic year (the month when the Holy Quran was revealed) is called Eid Al Fitr. This year the fast is expected to begin August 10 or 11 (depending on the physical sighting of the moon in the US).
