A new iPad app aims to impart the lessons some of the most famous and infamous people of our time have learned

NEW YORK, NEW YORK—JUNE 2010—
Whether for better or for worse, every one of us has faced, or will face decisions that will change the course of our lives. The question is, will you know how to recognize those times and, more importantly, how will you decide?

Taking advantage of the experience that Apple’s iPad can create, “Turning Point” is a new iPad app that shares interviews with famous and infamous personalities about their lives and careers and how they find themselves where they are today. Because people learn in different ways, the insights are presented in a combination of written chapters, audio files and video segments. The segments are interwoven to provide the clearest lessons possible.

The first chapter in the Turning Point series is with former Attorney General and Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer and is currently available on iTunes App store for $0.99. The intimate interview explores both his rise and fall as a public official. Future chapters of Turning Point are scheduled to come out on a regular basis.

MMOOK, the company that produces Turning Point, aims to make its multi-media platform available to traditional publishers so that they too can take advantage of the new technology, allowing their readers to have a more multi-media experience with nearly any book in their portfolios. The combination of the written word, photographs and video enhances the reading experience. Readers truly see the pictures, absorb a multidimensional presentation and so soak in the ideas and learn the lessons that any author aims to share.

“Digital media are changing the way content is created and delivered. New hardware and software delivery mechanisms has forced the publishing industry to reexamine its practices,” explained Malcolm Elvey, chairman, MMOOKS. “The MMOOKS platform allows content—the written word, photos and video—to synthesize and to produce a new reading experience by seamlessly integrating contextualized multimedia..”
