Reggae Artiste Cush Hunta makes his move! Potential hit maker Cush Hunta is definitely sounding better these days. The mixes are tight on his songs and production improved which signifies that this artiste has stepped it up a notch and has moved forward setting his eyes on the international market. Kashif Omar Downs, is a dj warrior from the nineties dancehall experience, who did battle at a time when the music industry was a cut – throat business. He fought his way on the musical scene with the overwhelming power of his voice and bar over bar style before taking the firm decision of seeking management. Corner Stone Production Limited which manages the artiste, spent the better part of 2009 setting the foundation in the Jamaican market. Now that the ground work is laid, Corner Stone Production Limited is set to unleash a promotional campaign that is intended to last as long as it takes to break Cush Hunta into the international market. Recently Cush released his first professional remixed, potential crossover single featuring reigning Reggae Queen and veteran Marcia Griffiths and young rapper Phaze Kryme. The song which is called, “No Skylarking” is a cover version and former Studio One hit originally recorded by veteran Roots, Rock, Reggae Artiste, Horace Andy. No Skylarking has already won favour with International radio jock Waggy Tee of 99 Jamz in Miami, DJ’S Wiz and Richard Banton of CHRY 105FM and other DJ’s in Canada where a concentrated effort is placed on promotion as Cush had already performed there making that location, “very familiar” territory for the artiste. The Hip-Hop flavor injected by young rapper, Phaze Kryme adds credence to the intended purpose of capturing US and Canadian markets as well as a general young audience on a whole, hence opening up a world of opportunities for the single to hit a diverse market. Cush Hunta also released another thought provoking track entitle, “A Di Same Thing” on the Bloodshed rhythm, a social commentary inspired by the recent Tivoli Incursion in Jamaica.
