July 5, 2010 - PRLog -- the "search engine redirect" / "Google Redirect" virus is a very common infection that all Windows computers suffer from. This virus is continually causing computers around the World to redirect their search engine results to random websites, making it difficult for you to browse the Internet, or do your work. Although not much is known about this virus, you can fix it by using the newly released tutorial on the site below:

You can see how to remove the search engine redirect virus here:

The Google Redirect Virus is a lot different than "normal" viruses, in that it does not have any central applications / files which are continually running on your system. This makes it very difficult for antivirus programs to remove this infection from your computer, as they simply cannot identify it. The problem is that this virus basically just changes the settings that your web browsers require to run, making it extremely difficult for your system to use them correctly.

You can normally tell if your PC is infected with the Google Redirect infection by it's constant redirecting of your websites. It works by hijacking the natural redirection that Google & other search engines use to monitor search metrics. Each time you search for something online, and click a search engine link, you don't get taken directly to the site - you are sent through Google.com first. This allows Google to track which search terms are the most popular & which links are clicked the most, etc. It also gives the search redirect virus the chance to redirect your traffic to advertisement websites, making it extremely difficult to use the Internet whilst infected with this virus.

Fortunately, there's now a simple way to remove it which you can see here:
