Follow on Google News | The 2010 AAU Track & Field Gulf District National Qualifier Events Set to BeginLake Houston Athletics hosts district 13--the Gulf District's national track & field qualifier events.
By: Pamela R. Purifoy Lake Houston Athletics will be the host of the Gulf District National Qualifier. Multi-events will be contested (Thursday and Friday) July 8th & 9th. All field events will be contested Saturday, July 10th, as well as the race walk, steeple chase and 3000 meter run. The remaining track events will be contested, Sunday, July 11th. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers. Spectators are welcomed; admission is $5.00 per day. The AAU founded in 1888, is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the U.S. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports. The AAU Junior Olympics will be held July 29-August 7, 2010 in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
