Micro Systemation AB Releases XRY v5.1 with iPad Support

July 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Washington, DC – Micro Systemation AB announces the release of version 5.1 of its XRY Complete mobile device forensics software. This new version includes full support for the Apple iPad, along with the following devices:

-- Logical acquisitions from 107 new devices, including 38 CDMA models. XRY Logical now supports a total of 1,446 devices.
-- Physical acquisitions from 57 new devices, including 19 GPS devices – the most GPS support any mobile forensic software offers. XRY Physical now supports 439 total devices.
-- Acquisitions from 13 untested phones, for a total of 129. (Untested means that while the developers do not have the actual device because it is new or uncommon, using an existing device profile works to extract data from the device.)

The new version builds on the successful stride Micro Systemation made with XRY 5.0, which tightly integrated the .XRY logical acquisition tool with XACT physical acquisition software, and presented a combined wizard for the identification of and data extraction from mobile devices. The move enabled quicker, more efficient recovery of data – both saved and deleted – from supported devices.

XRY 5.1's capabilities for the iPad and the newest iPhone model will be supported by new training available from MSAB Inc. The training, which focuses on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices, will begin to be offered in Europe in September, and in the US in November. It will teach logical and physical acquisition of data from these devices, SQL database information, and how to retrieve GPS information.
