Solids Control System's preventive maintenance is very important for the drilling work, to keep it working smoothly. So does shale shaker.

Because of their greater efficiency & complexity the use of finer mesh screens is essential. This requires more attention than the standard scalping shale shaker screen. Besides periodic lubrication, fine screen use requires the following care:

  1. Wash down screens with power washer regularly.
  2. Check screens for tear or rips.
  3. Make sure screens are properly mounted.
  4. Make sure shaker is at proper angle.
  5. Check wiring or a regular basis high speed shakers tend to wear through wiring insulation.

In addition, frequent checks must be made for plugging or blinding screens. The shaker angle can be increased or decreased to help eliminate this problem. For blinding screens a more coarse or finer screen may be installed to help solve the problem. Remember your shale shaker is your first line of defense in your solids control system. Choose a shale shaker that is correct for your application and have rig personnel learn to use it correctly.

A regular schedule of complete dismantling, inspection, and relubrication intervals assures maximum screen life and minimum downtime. The customer should keep a complete record of all such preventive maintenance plus a record of any repairs. Since the SHALE SHAKER is a vibratory machine, it is important to correct all minor troubles before serious damage develops. Replace faulty support springs and any missing bolts at once. Cracks forming in the structure (usually at or near the joints) and unusual noises and motion are signs of developing failure. Drill 1/4” holes through the ends of such cracks and consult WARNING IF WELDING IS DONE TO NO GROUND WELDER THRU VIBRATING SCREEN.
After 1500 to 2000 hours of operation, dismantle the vibrator mechanism and clean all parts. Flush bearings with a 200° light transformer, or automotive flushing oil. Check screen tension periodically. On reassembly, pack the bearings with grease and also fill the adjacent cavity in the housing and retainer with grease to the bottom of the shaft.
Shale shaker for solids control are devices that remove drill cuttings from the drilling fluid while circulating and drilling. There are many different designs and research into the best design is constantly ongoing since solids control is vital in keeping down costs associated with the drilling fluid..The basic design consists of large, flat sheets of wire mesh screens or sieves of various mesh sizes that shakes or vibrates the drill cuttings, commonly shale shaker, across and off of the screens as the drilling fluid flows through them and back into the drilling fluids processing system, often called a mud system. This separates the drill cuttings, often called solids, from the drilling fluid so that it can be recirculated back down the well bore.In oilfield industry,linear motion shale shaker are widely used for drilling mud solids cotrol of oil gas well drilling for rig.
