WimPen Leisure Management joins TATOC as a Platinum Affiliate

July 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Originally part of the George Wimpey European Empire over 25 years ago, WimPen now provides more than 15,000 property owners at 13 resorts and communities with management services in Tenerife, Lanzarote, La Gomera and the Costa del Sol.

Head of the management team is managing director Ivan Pengelly, who led the original management buyout of Wimpey Home Holdings in 1998 when he was regional director. Mr Pengelly’s wide knowledge and experience includes a full understanding of the Spanish building industry having managed developments from land purchases through construction, sales and ultimately to resort management.

Mr Pengelly explained his reasons behind the decision to affiliate. “WimPen has been members of RDO, formerly OTE, as the industry trade body since its inception. However over the years as our business has changed from that of a developer to resort management and administration, we have seen the need to focus upon an organisation that is dedicated to the ethics of our industry.
It is important that our 15,000 owner members and families are aware of WimPen’s commitment to the ethical standards required by an organisation such as TATOC”.

The team also includes Jesus Monedero, Director of Resort Finance, and a fully qualified member of the Spanish Association for the administration of Fincas (estates). Ian Crane, Director of Administration, ensures that WimPen Leisure Management keeps ahead of new problems as they arise and applies lessons learnt at one resort to all their clients.

Speaking about the new affiliation Harry Taylor, CEO of TATOC, said “We are absolutely delighted to have such a respected and established company like WimPen join the Association. We welcome their support and also the knowledge and expertise that they bring. I look forward to their ongoing participation”.

As Platinum Affiliates of TATOC, the Timeshare Association, WimPen will adhere to the strict code of ethics and operating guidelines set out by the Association. There are three levels of affiliation – silver, gold and platinum – and all companies wishing to affiliate are thoroughly vetted beforehand and continually monitored. As a Platinum Affiliate, WimPen will feature on the TATOC website’s homepage at www.timeshareassociation.org and in the upcoming TATOC Sharetime magazine.
