Key2SafeDrivingTM uses a hardware device that plugs into the vehicle and software that installs directly onto the phone.  When the car starts, the Key2SafeDriving™ Activator places the phone in Safe Driving Mode™ which prevents calling or texting while behind the wheel.  Emergency calls to 911 or other pre-programmed numbers can be allowed.  The Key2SafeDriving™ profile can be configured to allow the driver to use a hands free Bluetooth device.  While in Safe Driving Mode™ the system routes incoming calls to voicemail and text messages to the Inbox.  Both are immediately accessible once the vehicle has stopped.  The system can also be configured to respond (via text message) to all calls and text messages, notifying the sender that the driver will reply once it is safe.  Key2SafeDriving™ has many tamper-proofing features that will notify the parent or administrator if the device has been removed or the software has been disabled.
