4th Annual Drive for the Kids

July 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Saturday, August 21, will bring participants of the 4th Annual Drive for the Kids to Loveland. Hosted by the Denver Round Table and The Rocky Mountain Region Porsche Club, Drive for the Kids is an annual event to benefit kids. 100% of net proceeds will go to the Children's Hospital Sports Program with a few small donations going to other Denver Round Table supported charities.

The event is open to all participants and all makes and models of cars. Car club membership is not required. Various levels of participation or sponsorship are available.

Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch (http://sylvandale.com) is helping to sponsor the event this year and will be an extended stop along the drive route that continues on to the Grand Hotel in Steamboat Springs. Wine tasting, dinner, and a silent auction will culminate the day's event.

THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL SPORTS PROGRAM

In 1968 The Children’s Hospital Sports Program (TCH HSP) became the first ski program in the country for children with disabilities. TCH HSP participants have physical disabilities  ranging from amputations and spinal cord or brain injuries to long term illnesses and conditions like cerebral palsy, cancer and spina bifida.

For many of these kids, it is their first opportunity to move fast enough to feel the wind in their hair, and have the freedom of speed and control that we all take for granted in our everyday lives. That freedom translates to self-confidence, selfesteem, and all the other “self” words critical to a brighter future. TCH HSP offers year-round involvement in leisure pursuits such as skiing, boarding, golfing, and fishing. Over 100 children and families are able to enjoy these unique opportunities each year.
