The Taoist Qingcheng Mountain

Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Mt Qingcheng is situated in SW of Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. It is the birthplace of the Taoist religion and known as one of the most important Taoist mountains in China. Mt Qingcheng is home to 20 temples. It is well known for its lush and verdant trees, and takes the name for being surrounded by 36 peaks which shape the mountain like a city. Mt Qingcheng was listed as one of the UNESCO heritage sites in 2000.

Mt Qingcheng covers an area of 200 square kilometers, with the main peak - Laoxiao Ding 1,600 meters (5250 feet) above the sea level. Other major religious sites here include the Natural Picture (a building complex blending into in Nature), the Jianfu Palace, the Tianshi Cave, the Zushi Palace, and the Shangqing Palace.

Besides, the sunrise, the cloud sea, and saint lamp are three natural wonders in Mt Qingcheng. The Shangqing Palace is the best site for visitors to enjoy the saint lamp.
