Panasonic HDC-SDT750K, World's First Consumer 3D Camcorder

Aug. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Now you can record your own 3D movies with the new Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder. The technology on board has been developed from Panasonic 3D broadcasting cameras which only professionals were using, but now it can be in the palm of your hand capturing 3D footage which can then be viewed on your 3D TV.

A 3D conversion lens is provided which captures the 3D format as Panasonic explains:

"In natural vision, people see slightly different images with their right and left eyes, this difference is called visual disparity. The brain uses visual disparity to perceive spatial depth and the appearance of solidity. This visual disparity is artificially produced for 3D images so that the brain will interpret it as depth and solid-appearing objects.

The SDT750 comes with a special 3D conversion lens that records right-eye and left-eye images simultaneously through its two lenses. The right and left images (each with 960 x 1080 pixels) that enter through the lenses are recorded using the side-by-side method. By connecting the SDT750 to a TV that is capable of side-by-side method 3D playback, vividly colorful 3D images can be viewed at home."

The SDT750 can also record without the 3D lens converter and capture Full HD footage for you to enjoy. It has a 3MOS sensor on board which is an improved sensor from previous Panasonic models. It also offers many shooting options, an Optical Image Stabiliser and Intelligent Auto function.

3D footage can be saved to a DVD using the optional Panasonic DVD Burner or images can be burned onto a DVD or Blu-ray by a AVCHD compatible recorder like the Panasonic Blu-ray Disc recorder.

Priced at $1399.95, the Panasonic HDC-SDT750 is slated for October release.
